Baldur's Gate 3 patch 8 tests proved necessary. Larian already has first update ready for last major patch to hit RPG
Larian Studios prepared a major update for Baldur's Gate 3 tied to the test version of Patch 8. The update introduces fixes to the photo mode.
Baldur's Gate 3 started last week. Larian Studios is fine-tuning an update, featuring cross-play, photo mode, and new subclasses, as they get ready to release it to more players. Today, the developers announced the first update for the test version of Patch 8, which will be added to the game.
The update will introduce improvements regarding the new features in Baldur’s Gate 3, which of course, will also be included in the final version of Patch 8, when it reaches all players (we still don't know when this will happen). We can still for the tests, but there is no guarantee that we will be able to get in (access is granted in batches).
The discussed update fixes many bugs in the photographic mode, including poorly looking character poses or the problem with the game freezing while switching between options. You can read about other major changes below.
- Sound effects have been added for snapshots while taking screenshots.
- The Steam Deck's screenshot feature has been updated to simplify access.
- Unwanted characters will no longer appear in the frame in photo mode during cutscenes in ongoing multiplayer sessions.
- The bug with items added to the inventory losing their effects has been fixed.
- Cross-play mode issues have been fixed, including those related to the player getting stuck on the loading screen after removing and re-adding the session host to friends.
- Gale will be able to use magical items, thanks to the removal of the bug related to ing things to him.
- The bugs in the interface and those related to multiple attempts to start the game from the lobby have been fixed.
The update will also remove some irregularities regarding new subclasses in Baldur’s Gate 3. Given that Larian Studios has marked the update as number one, we can be sure of similar fixes to Patch 8 in the future.
