- Valheim: 7.9 million copies sold;
- Chivalry 2: 1 million copies sold.
Embracer Group, which ownes publishers such as Deep Silver, THQ Nordic, Tripwire, and Coffee Stain, has published its financial results. Biomutant, an action RPG developed by Experiment 101, has already sold over a million copies. A week from release was enough to pay off all the costs incurred in the development and marketing of the project. These results were in line with the publisher's expectations.
In addition, Valheim have been sold from the beginning of April to the end of June. In total, the game has already found more than 7.9 million buyers. As a result of the project's success, the number of Iron Gate employees increased to eight. Currently, the team is working on the further development of the game, but plans are also being made for the future of the entire IP.
Chivalry 2 also doing well, with sales exceeding 1 million copies. The game launched on June 8 on PC (only on Epic Games Store), Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5.
It has also been reported that Embracer Group-owned Saber Interactive has bought the Russian studio SPL. The team helped port World War Z to that console.
Saber Interactive has acquired two other studios - Demiurge Interactive and Fractured Byte. Both of these teams also specialize in porting games to new platforms.
We also learned a little about the Embracer Group's future plans. Two AAA projects to be released by Deep Silver (almost certainly Saints Row) are still scheduled for release early next year.
