Kingdom Come: Deliverence 2 among top 50 most popular games in Steam's history. Daniel Vavra targets Starfield record because he „likes challenges”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 drew crowds of gamers on Steam this past weekend. However, Daniel Vávra is aiming even higher, dreaming of reaching Starfield's level.
Last weekend was the first for players to enjoy the company of Henry in the newly released The title broke the player activity record set by the first installment on its launch, which shouldn't be surprising considering the impressive sales. Now, however, the numbers look even better.
Kingdom Come 2 with a record player activity
According to SteamDB, last Sunday at its peak, 256,206 players were playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 simultaneously. The result from the release day was therefore beaten by almost 100 thousand people. This secured the 49th position for the title in the ranking of the most popular games in Steam's history, sorted by the "all-time peak."
Such a high record of simultaneously playing people was achieved by a game with a relatively low budget, Developing KCD 2 cost about 41 million dollars, enabling the expenses to be recouped on the release day.
Warhorse Studio definitely has a reason to be happy, which Daniel Vavra doesn't hide, boasting about the result on X.
New record today. I dont expect it to get higher during the week days, but it would be cool to get to 300 one day (Starfield level). I like challenges.
As you can see, the co-founder of the Czech studio is aiming high and would like his latest title to break the record of player activity of Starfield. This one is just over 330 thousand, so it's not an easy task. However, KCD 2 can already boast a significantly better reception from players on Steam (90% positive reviews for KCD 2 and 58% for Starfield).
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 was released on February 4th on PC, PS5, XSX/S.
