Steel Hunters is new shooter from World of Tanks creators. This time we will fight with giant robots

The developers of World of Tanks announced a new game: Steel Hunters, which will soon go into closed testing.

The Wargaming team was one of the many guests who appeared at The Game Awards 2024. During the stream of this event, the developer revealed another online game. After battles of warships, the next step turns out to be clashes of giant mechs, which the studio has been working on for 3 years.

TGA 2024 brought us a gameplay presentation of Steel Hunters, which you can watch below.

In the game, we will control gigantic machines called Hunters, each with its own unique fighting style. Battles will take place in a world after a massive catastrophe, which forced the remnants of humanity to fight for a cosmic resource - a crucial material for creating Hunters. Many corporations and factions are fighting for the precious resources of Starfall and dominance over the ruined Earth.

The developers have confirmed in a press release that the s for the closed testing of Steel Hunters are starting today. The beta will last for 10 days, allowing players to test the gameplay that is supposed to be - according to the developer's words - a new approach to the battle royale and extraction shooter genres with a touch of hero shooter.

The game is supposed to focus more on tactics rather than quick reflexes, and cooperation will be the key to victory. Wargaming also hinted at PvPvE gameplay.

Steel Hunter will be released in a free-to-play model on personal computers.
