Will there be a Solo Leveling season 3? Official and unofficial news about the future of the anime
Unfortunately, we have bad news for fans of Solo Leveling, as for now the 3rd season of the anime has not been announced. This, of course, does not at all mean that it will not be made, however, nothing is certain for now. Nevertheless, due to the incredible popularity of the production and the fact that there are still quite a few stories left to be told (the anime for the time being ends at Jeju Island Arc, after which the light novel and manhwa were further developed) it seems that we can rest assured about the future of Solo Leveling. Who would get rid of the hen that lays the golden eggs?
Some time ago we heard about Solo Leveling season 3 from producer Atsushi Kaneko, who participated in the Aniplex After Hours program. Unfortunately, he was unable to say anything specific for now, as he too does not know what's next for the anime.
With Episode 25, which will be broadcast soon, the TV anime series Solo Leveling will come to an end, for now. Will this end be temporary or not? I honestly don't know what the future will bring. With the encouragement and of everyone watching, it may continue, or it may not. Personally, I really hope it does. This anime has made it this far thanks to all of you, so I hope you'll keep ing us even after the final episode. Please look forward to the finale.
This means that fans must be patient until some official news arrives. We have learned from unofficial sources that Solo Leveling season 3 has been greenlit, but this is unconfirmed information, so it should be approached with caution.
Solo Leveling season 3 not until 2028?
Slightly more positive news came from other sources, as Alex Le, the English voice of Jinwoo; Rahul Purini, president of Crunchyroll; and Sota Furuhashi, producer of Solo Leveling, suggest that season 3 will be made. The worse news is that we will have to wait a while for it, as all three men agree. The team, busy with other projects, is said to be waiting for “the right time.”
Furuhashi additionally said he thinks they should hold off until the next Olympics.
I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But I think that’s more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures.
The closest thing is the Winter Olympics, which will be held in 2026, however then fans would have waited the standard year, and Furuhashi's response suggests that he is referring to a more distant date. This could mean that he had in mind the Summer Olympics, to be held in 2028. Fans of Solo Leveling would then have to wait three years for the new anime installment.
