Strategy

Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon is an expansion to the popular 2012 historical strategy game developed by Paradox Development. In order to work, this add-on requires the base game. Jade Dragon implements China into the game – albeit as an unplayable faction; however, it serves as an outside empire, which indirectly affects the turn of events, especially within India and Transoxiana. The player can become a vassal to the Chinese Emperor or complete tasks assigned to them in order to receive numerous bonuses; refusing to obey the Emperor might prove very dangerous. Moreover, Chinese princes and raiders visit other nations offering help or causing trouble. There is also the option to profit from the Silk Road. Crusader Kings II: Jade Dragon introduces also new artifacts, character portraits, and a set of eight new casus belli.

Strategy

The 12th expansion for 2012’s grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive, Crusader Kings II. In The Reaper’s Due, the developers focused on historical epidemics such as the Black Death which was the plague that gathered a bloody harvest in 13th century Europe. Therefore, the add-on introduces several new mechanics. The most important ones are obviously diseases that spread throughout the map of the continent. They have a negative influence on, among other things, our army’s numbers as well as finances. The latter can be replenished by forcing large dividends on prosperous provinces that pay us in gold and workforce. We can protect our people from diseases, though, thanks to hospitals and doctors who have access to the latest medical knowledge but their presence not always can prevent an epidemic. Apart from the aforementioned novelties, the gameplay is traditionally enriched by new event chains.

Strategy

The eleventh expansion for the 2012’s Crusader Kings II, a game by Paradox Interactive. Conclave significantly expands and strengthens the role of vassals in the game, allowing the council that governs our realm to gain some actual influence over our actions. All of our direct subjects will demand to be respected and heard; if disregarded, they might begin to plot against the king, so, in order to reduce the risk of a civil war, we will have to keep the councilors satisfied. The council might vote on various law changes in the kingdom, while the king may try to limit its influence, which is a perfect opportunity for all kinds of intrigue. Crusader Kings II: Conclave also offers a remade guardianship system, modified diplomacy, and combat enhancements (including the increased importance of morale).

Strategy

The ninth expansion for Crusader Kings II, a strategy game by Paradox Interactive. Similarly to the vanilla version, Horse Lords is set in the Middle Ages. This time around, it focuses on two nomadic tribes that had a major influence on the shape of the contemporary world: Mongols and Tatars. Contrary to the previously available nations, they require a lot of space and have to stay in motion. Management of the new factions is based on having a specific clan policy that forces players to divide groups that have grown to big and having defeated enemy leaders swear a blood oath. Apart from these novelties, Horse Lords introduces a reworked interface, over a hundred challenges, a map of Central Asia, the possibility of building forts, and tributes the paying of which we can force upon conquered provinces. Horse Lords also implements the Silk Road, which can provides considerable trade income if controlled.

Strategy

An add-on to Crusader Kings II, a popular grand strategy game developed by the experienced Paradox studio. Crusader Kings II: Way of Life introduces expanded story elements that have a significant impact on the relations between characters. The new content gives players bigger influence on a ruler’s behavior, including his/her personal life. Unique bonuses and faster development in certain fields depend on our chosen specialization, such as: ruling, economy, hunting, warfare, family life, carousing, scheming, seduction, seeking knowledge, and theology. Thanks to the expansion, characters in Crusader Kings II can romance, duel, spy and interact with one another in numerous different ways. Way of Life also brings many new diplomatic options exploiting the less official relations between people. Apart from the new content, Way of Life implements a bunch of technical fixes, a slight modification of the interface, and several important elements for modders.

Crusader Kings II: Charlemagne is focused on the eponymous Charles the Great, king of the Franks and the founder of the Holy Roman Empire. The action takes us to the year 769, to the early years of his reign. The campaign concentrates on the most important events of Charlemagne’s reign and the wars he fought. The expansion introduces a number of special events that do not appear in the vanilla game as well as a new system of climatic and seasonal changes. Crusader Kings II: Charlemagne also comes with several gameplay mechanic modifications and some entirely new options, such as creation of your own country (including its flag and a unique name). Expansion

Strategy

The sixth expansion for Crusader Kings II, a 2012’s grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive. Just like the title suggests, Crusader Kings II: Rajas of India expands the map with India and Eastern Persia and thus offers twice as big a game map as the one in the vanilla game. The add-on introduces hundreds of new provinces in Central Asia, and the playable area also includes a part of Siberia. The main highlight is the option to assume the role of an Indian raja. We start the campaign somewhere between 1066 and 1337 (or as early as 867, should we also have Crusader Kings II: The Old Gods). Starting out as an Indian raja, we have to choose between three religions: Buddhism, Hinduism, and Jainism. Each of these offers a different set of benefits and duties which influences the course of the gameplay. Moreover, numerous new game elements were implemented, such as jungles, elephants, and a caste system - something vastly different from European feudalism. The title also comes with new online options via Steam.

Strategy

The fifth major expansion pack for Crusader Kings II - an acclaimed strategy game developed by Paradox Interactive. The Sons of Abraham expansion focuses on religion-related gameplay aspects, introducing new mechanics to the three main religions of the Middle Ages - Christianity, Islam and Judaism. When it comes to Christianity, mainly the mechanisms regulating the istrative sphere of papacy were extended. But most importantly however, the College of Cardinals was introduced, which consists of 9 persons. Heresies and orders have become much more important, but the player is now capable of sending a "redundant" descendant to one such order as well. As far as Islam is concerned, playing as the Sunnis was enriched with new content. The player now has voice in the dispute between the progressive Ash'arites and the conservative Mu'tazilites. Interestingly, Muslims are now capable of creating their own political structures in the form of caliphates. Judaism on the other hand is a complete novelty here. Playing as a Jewish character is possible only within the Khazar Khaganate, and the player's prime goal is to restore the ancient Kingdom of Israel.

Strategy

The fourth major DLC for Crusader Kings II - a strategy game developed by Paradox Interactive. The Old Gods gives an opportunity to take on the role of either a Pagan or a Zoroastrian leader. A special emphasis was placed on the culture of vikings, as well as their plundering expeditions. The player's own subjects demand further conquests - although they can start a rebellion against their leader in case of the country stagnating, they are eager to fight for the ruler if the player informs them about their war plans. On the other hand, if the player decides to assume the role of a Zoroastrian leader, their goal will be to restore Zoroastrianism to its former, high position. The DLC introduces a set of other elements as well, such as an opportunity to perform sacrifices to gods, berserker frenzies, curses, prophecies, etc. Regardless of the leader the player has chosen, they constantly have to protect their subjects from Christians and Muslims trying to convert them.

Strategy

An expansion to Crusader Kings II: Dark Ages, a successful strategy game released in 2012 by Paradox Interactive. Instead of being a feudal ruler, in Crusader Kings II: The Republic player assumes the role of the head of a trading house. He is tasked with leading his family to domination over the Hanseatic League and taking control of important trading cities like Venice, Genoa, Pisa and Gotland. Instead of building castles and conquering enemy territories, the player concentrates on controlling cities and trading. The interface and the whole economic aspect were modified in order to fit in the trading character of the gameplay. The player gains access to a family palace which can be improved and expanded. One can also build trading posts at the coast. The title of a leader of a republic lasts till the end of a character's life and is ed on to the head of the strongest local family through voting. Obtaining it is an important objective, but failure in doing so doesn’t mean the end of the game.

Together with Aztecs, a new plague reaches Europe and the doctors are unable to deal with it. The player, who assumes the role of a ruler of a powerful empire, must face the new threat and save his realm from imminent doom. The expansion is included in the basic version of Crusader Kings II: Dark Ages and its contents are unlocked during the late phases of the regular campaign. Crusader Kings II: Sunset Invasion introduces many new units and portraits. Unique aspects of the Aztec culture and religion were recreated, including brutal rituals during which they offered human sacrifices to their gods.

The second expansion to Crusader Kings II: Dark Ages, a successful strategy game released in 2012 by Paradox Interactive. As the name suggests, Crusader Kings II: Legacy of Rome concentrates on the legacy left by the Roman Empire. The expansion allows the player to assume the role of the ruler of the Byzantine Empire or its part. The new challenge that the player must face are his vassals who represent various factions that not only compete with each other but are also ready to unite against their ruler. ing one of these factions can provide political bonuses and help deal with conspirators. The military aspect of the game was changed and the role of the commanders was increased – their abilities and traits can now strongly affect the outcome of battles. Army mobilization system was simplified and an option to permanently hire mercenary armies was added. Among other novelties there is ruler development system, the possibility to assign orthodox patriarchs and a series of unique decisions and historical events.

The first expansion to Crusader Kings II, a grand strategy game by Paradox Interactive. The add-on, similarly to the vanilla game, consists of many mechanics which were adopted from the Europa Universalis series. Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam allows the players to take command of Muslim nations and lead them to victory in times of crusades. The expansion lets us assume the role of a Muslim ruler that led the Ottoman Empire and the Mamelukes. Because of that, Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam introduces changes in gameplay mechanics so as to reflect Muslim lifestyle, including the law, polygamous marriages, forming alliances, granting titles, and inheritance of power. Crusader Kings II: Sword of Islam features an extended map that reaches as far as to Mali states and introduces a hundred historical events to enrich the game, such as the frictions between Shiites and Sunnis and pilgrimages to Mecca.
