Release Date: September 23, 2021
Diablo 2: Resurrected is a refreshed version of the cult hack'n'slash game from Blizzard Entertainment, featuring visual and system changes and gameplay improvements to both the base version of the classic and the Lord of Destruction expansion pack.
Diablo 2 is a game that has become part of gaming history and an inspiration for other developers trying their hand at the hack'and'slash genre. After more than 20 years, Blizzard Entertainment studio decided to release a remaster of the cult game with additional improvements and modern graphics. Diablo 2: Resurrected includes both the main game and the Lord of Destruction expansion pack.
In of storyline, Diablo 2: Resurrected doesn't differ from the original and takes us on a five-act adventure, during which we explore the barbarian city of Harrogath at the top of Mount Arreat, the desert areas around the Lut Gholein settlement, or the Pandemonium Fortress, among other places. We still have one goal in mind, which is to get rid of Diablo - Lord of Terror, who was not finally annihilated, and now not only has possessed Prince Aidan, but also plans to liberate the rest of his infernal siblings in order to finally gain power over mankind.
Diablo 2: Resurrected begins by choosing one of the 7 available character classes, such as necromancer, amazon, barbarian, paladin and sorcerer, as well as assassin and druid. Each of them has different skills and their gameplay requires different tactics, as well as allocation of points in statistics. Only then do we begin the adventure in the world of Sanctuary, in which we fight against hordes of hostile troops as well as murderous bosses.
As well as the plot, so the gameplay itself does not differ from the original version of the game. Not counting a few improvements, such as more space in the chest(10x10 grid areas, instead of 6x8), automatic gold raising, clearer interface, seasonal rankings and the ability to share items between our created characters, including those created on other platforms.
Diablo II: Resurrected is designed for both single player and multiplayer online play for up to 8 players ("closed" Battle.net variant, with character saved on server); at the time of release, Open Battle.net (with character saved on disk) and t/ip variants were not available.
Most of the changes were made out of the need to adapt the game to today's standards. Diablo 2: Resurrected features full 3D rendering with dynamic lighting, s 4k resolution, and has received revamped and improved spell effects, character animations, and step-by-step cinematics for higher resolutions. The audio has also been improved, with 7.1 sound quality implemented and immersive sound effects added. However, if players prefer the classic look of the game, there is nothing to stop them going back to 2D using the in-game option. The game also s mods.
Importantly, Blizzard developers have announced that the Diablo 2 remaster will not use the controversial solution utilised in Warcraft 3 Reforged, and the remastered edition of the game will function alongside the original and not replace it.

Diablo 2 might not be perfect, but it's still a classic game, which did a lot of things really well. I'm probably not the only one who would be happy if Diablo 4 borrowed some specific solutions from the cult-classic part two.

Diablo 2: Resurrected got patch 2.4 last week, which introduced some much-needed new features. They contributed a lot to gameplay, but unless you're a very particular type of player, you can still feel wanting. And this series doesn't deserve that.
