The next installment of a popular series of football games created by Electronic Arts. FIFA 99 brings a number of changes to the match engine and graphics, allowing players to redirect several hundred teams from Europe and the rest of the world.
The authors have put at the disposal of football fans over two hundred and fifty clubs from twelve countries. Among them are all the leading teams of the Old Continent that regularly compete for trophies, such as Manchester United, Liverpool FC, Real Madrid, FC Barcelona, AC Milan, Juventus FC and Paris Saint-Germain. Each of them can compete in several dozen stadiums in one of several modes. In addition to a single game, there are also leagues and cups, including the option to create your own games. The authors have also prepared a fictional super-league with the participation of top teams, in which there is no division into countries.
FIFA 99 brings a few changes in the match engine, bringing the title closer to the real struggles on the field. Players' reactions to commands have been refined, so that they can respond faster to commands. Improved reactions to top balls, also allowing you to shoot from the air with heads, voiles or knockouts. The authors have also developed a semi-automatic defensive steering system in which the player can use the help of artificial intelligence.
FIFA 99 is a three-dimensional football game. Compared to their predecessors, the creators upgraded the frame, increasing the number of player animations, introducing simple facial expressions and differences in the growth of players. The soundtrack included works by Fatboy Slim, Dylan Rhymes and Lionrock.
