Release Date: December 17, 2024
An isometric RPG with turn-based battle system. Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is inspired by the Treasure Island book and it follows adventures of pirates. We can create our pirate crew, explore the world, search for loot and win battles. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5.
Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is a tactical RPG with a turn-based combat system. It presents the adventures of pirates, drawing inspiration from the cult novel "Treasure Island" by R.L. Stevenson. The game is the debut work of the French studio Savage Level, which aimed to authentically present the world of sea bandits - in Flint: Treasure of Oblivion there is a place for historical language, costumes and weapons. The creators enriched the experience with fantasy elements.
The story shows the fate of Captain Flint and his faithful companion Billy Bones. When one of the sea battles ends disastrously for them, the heroes decide to change their fate and go in search of a hidden treasure. On the way, they gather a new crew and also face numerous rivals.
In Flint: Treasure of Oblivion we are transported to the golden age of piracy. The treasure hunt throws us into various locations, allowing us to visit the French city of Saint-Malo or ire the landscapes of Central America. We talk to various NPCs and carry out quests for them, gradually building and developing Captain Flint's crew.
One of the key elements of the game is obtaining loot, which we use to buy useful items and improve the skills of our heroes. Some conversations can be ed using persuasion, while others may force us to reach for our weapons.
Battles in Flint: Treasure of Oblivion are fought in turns. During the clashes, we move our heroes on the battlefield divided into hexagrams. We give out orders that include using firearms and melee weapons, as well as activating skills unique to each character. The outcome of the action is determined by dice rolls, which we influence using the cards we have. The selection of the crew and combining the abilities of its individual play a crucial role. We wage conflicts on the decks of ships, city streets, as well as in caves and in the jungle.
The game is characterized by realistic graphics enriched with narrative-ing elements straight from a graphic novel. The game includes comic book boards depicting key events and characteristic dialogue bubbles or onomatopoeia.
In Flint: Treasure of Oblivion we observe the action in isometric view. The game is powered by the Unreal 5 engine.

Game Ratings for Flint: Treasure of Oblivion Video Game.
GamesCreed: 3.7 / 5 by Rexifirus Nightshade
Flint: Treasure of Oblivion is a fun experience and should be great with a couple of updates and changes; the story is great, the level designs are pretty, and it’s worth giving a shot, if only for the story. Combat is unique but not new in the way it sets Flint: Treasure of Oblivion apart from other games, so it shouldn’t be too hard to master.
RPG Fan: 78 / 100 by Mark Roddison
A well-made SRPG with a full commitment to its piratical inspirations, even if it takes longer than it should to learn systems and control patterns.
Thumb Culture: 4 / 5
Flint: Treasure of Oblivion isn’t without its flaws. The lack of a map showing where you are on it, the occasional bugs, and the reliance on dice rolls might put off some players. However, the game’s strengths far outweigh its weaknesses. The comic-book storytelling, atmospheric music, and pirate-themed adventures make it a must-play for fans of the genre. Savage Level have created a world that’s as charming as it is challenging, and while it might not be smooth sailing all the way, the journey is well worth it. So grab your dice, recruit your crew, and set sail. This is one treasure you won’t want to leave buried. With its engaging presentation, tactical depth, and sheer pirate charm, Flint: Treasure of Oblivion earns itself a Thumb Culture Gold Award.
