A spin-off of the popular Kirby series, offered in a form of a racing game. Kirby: Air Riders allows us to play as Kirby and other Nintendo characters, participating in crazy racers. This project was announced during the first presentation of the Nintendo Switch 2 console.
Kirby: Air Riders is a racing spin-off of the popular Super Smash Bros. series, was overseeing the project.
Kirby: Air Riders follows the path set by the game Kirby Air Ride, released in 2003 for the GameCube console. The previous game allowed us to play as the titular Kirby and his color variants. During the game, we participated in crazy races, taking the helm of various vehicles and machines known from previous games under this brand. They were hovering above the ground, and we could control their altitude.
Kirby could use his unique ability, which allowed him to swallow opponents and absorb their powers, and then use them against them. The characteristic feature of that game was the simplicity of gameplay. It was played using an analog stick and one button, and the driving model was purely skill-based.
In addition to the basic game modes, namely the Air Ride and Top Ride, there was also a City Trial mode to check out, in which we fought against opponents in closed arenas.
