Last Ranker is a classic representative of the Japanese RPG species. An extremely experienced team was involved in the development of the game, whose individual had previously worked on several important works by companies from the Land of the Cherry Blossom.
It is enough to mention that the main producer of Last Ranker is Minae Matsukawa, who has, among others, the Ace Attorney brand known to the owners of Nintendo DS. His right hand is Kazuya Niinou, creator of Etrian Odyssey and 7th Dragon. Tatsuya Yoshikawa (Breath of Fire) is responsible for the character's projects, while Yoko Shimomura (the author of the Kingdom Hearts game soundtrack) composed the warm-up music. The author of Last Ranker, which tells the story of a young warrior named Zig, is probably the most experienced creator of all those involved, Kazushige Nojima. He took part in the creation of individual episodes of the Kingdom Hearts brand, as well as Final Fantasy VII - the work of Square Enix announced as the best jRPG game of all time.
Zig is a novice soldier who decides to the army for one simple reason - he wants to become the best warrior. It will not be easy, however, because almost all men living in the Last Ranker universe aspire to the same name. The noblewoman Ren, trying to restore the good name of her family and the once mighty kingdom istered by her family, will help him in this process. The role of the main opponent was played by an old friend of Zig, a certain Phase.
Last Ranker offers a standard, as for jRPG conditions, gameplay. She is only distinguished by the combat system designed by Kazuya Niinou. It combines classic turn-based clashes with actionRPG features to give you more control over your hero.
