Mechstermination Force is a platform action game representing the "boss rush" subgenre - the game revolves around fighting different bosses. The game was developed by the independent Swedish studio Horberg Productions, whose portfolio includes the Gunman Clive series.
Mechstermination Force tells a simple story set in a science fiction universe. As players progress, they take control of one of the four soldiers to face the MegaMechs - the gigantic robots that have taken control over the world.
In Mechstermination Force the action is shown from the side perspective. Throughout the game, players are tasked with defeating fourteen diversified powerful machines. One can eliminate them by shooting at their weak spots in dynamic combat sequences. In addition to firearms, the authors give at players' disposal a lot of useful gadgets. The overall arsenal of available weapons and gear grows with one's progress. For example, while jet boots allow players to make double jumps, the baseball pole destroys the energy cores of enemies, and magnetic gloves allow players to climb over the metal bodies of their adversaries.
The Mechstermination Force can be played solo or in the company of a second player, within the local cooperative mode.
Mechstermination Force has colorful 2.5 visuals maintained in a cartoon-like style; the game runs at fixed sixty frames per second.
