Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Heroes 2 – The Phantom Fortress PSP is a sequel to the 2007 game, also based on the popular manga by Masashi Kishimoto, adapted into an animated TV series. The plot follows the adventures of teenage ninja Naruto, who has the spirit of the Fox Demon sealed within him. The game was developed by Cyberconnect2, known for other games set in the Naruto universe.
The gameplay hasn't changed much compared to the game's predecessor. Again, you can fight on you own or in a team, whose you choose from twenty characters. Of course, each of them has unique fighting techniques, including the jutsu abilities. The combat also remains largely the same — you can use shurikens and standard and strengthened attacks, as well as special jutsu abilities, which use up the chakra energy. You can also find special limited items, such as enhanced shurikens.
The biggest novelty in The Phantom Fortress in the Mugenjo mode, in which you have to climb a hundred-story tower that one day falls on the Hidden Leaf Village. Every floor features three challenges, out of which you have to complete one in order to progress.
In the multiplayer mode, you can either cooperate with other player or fight against them via the Wi-Fi link. Only one UMD is necessary to play in the multiplayer mode.
