The debut production of Quadro Delta, an independent Russian studio, is a sandbox pirate simulator with pixel-art graphics. In the game, we play as a pirate captain whose ambition is to become the most famous buccaneer in history. To achieve this, he must not only design and build his own ship, but also recruit a crew that will be able to conquer the world with him during his numerous voyages.
Pixel Piracy is a side-scrolling 2d, real time strategy/sandbox/simulation game in which the player leads the life of a pirate captain.Recruit a crew, outfit and customize your ship and set sail on the open seas. There you’ll use any combination of aggression, diversion and trade to become the most infamous pirate crew of the seven seas! You can raid, pillage and plunder everything in your path, divert and lie to get what you want or trade for a quick buck. to be careful though, death is everywhere and quite permanent! Adventure awaits…

Overall, this is a title that is brimming with unrealised potential. If everything worked as designed, Pixel Piracy's customisation options, management mechanics and randomly generated world would be incredibly engaging and fun. Unfortunately, the problems with the AI turn battles from strategic endeavours to long slogs and there isn't as much to do as it first appears. If you're lucky enough to avoid the bugs, Pixel Piracy will provide a couple of hours of enjoyment while you figure out its intricacies and perfect your crew, though we doubt there's enough variation to keep you hooked beyond your first play through.

Pixel Piracy is fun at its start, giving you the potential to command a giant ship with cannons and dozens of crew . Whether you choose to put in the grinding to achieve this state is up to you, but all in all this game is an effective time killer. I would love to see a game like this for mobile devices, and would play the shit out of it, but that game isn't here yet.
