Ryse: Son of Rome has been developed with Kinect in mind from the very start, allowing players to perform various combinations of attacks through body movement.
Ryse: Son of Rome for PC and XONE is a dynamic action game set in the ancient Rome. The game is developed by Crytek from , known for the first-person shooter series Crysis. The PC version is a console port of the Xbox One launch title released in November 2013. First information about this game appeared in 2011. According to Crytek’s plans from that time, Ryse was meant to be released on Xbox 360 and only Kinect as a controller.
You play as Marius Titus, a Roman centurion, who is seeking revenge for the death of his loved ones. In addition to cutting his way through hordes of enemies, he also has to command his subordinates. The combat mainly boils down to pressing button combinations, resulting in Titus performing combos and spectacular finishers.
We can give orders to our men (like throwing a pilum, shooting a bow, blocking enemy attacks etc.). There can be up to 100 characters on the screen at once, each with their own, individual AI.
Ryse: Son of Rome also offers a cooperative multiplayer mode. You can fight along your friends in the Roman Colosseum as gladiators who focus on defeating waves of enemies.
The PC version of the game includes all released DLC and the content which was available only in the Limited Edition of Xbox One version. Therefore, Ryse on PC has more weapons, character skins, a dozen or so maps for single and multiplayer modes and survival mode. However, the most interesting innovations are in the graphics. The game uses CryEngine 3 and can be challenging even to the most powerful computers. The game s 4K resolution and advanced effects which could not be possible on Xbox One.

Game Ratings for Ryse: Son of Rome Video Game.
Hardcore Gamer: 3 / 5 by Adam Beck
If you played Ryse: Son of Rome on Xbox One, there's little reason to return on PC. It may contain higher resolutions and a more flexible frame rate, but otherwise it's substantially the same game.
PC Gamer: 57 / 100 by Emanuel Maiberg
Ryse: Son of Rome's combat and incredible graphics are entertaining, but it's too narrow and repetitive, even for a short game.
GameTrailers: 7 / 10 by Justin Speer
Ryse is well-suited to make its entrance alongside a new console, as some of its faults can be overlooked for its commendable bravado and convincing demonstration of power. The bloody spectacle of war and gladiatorial combat are thrilling to behold, and Ryse demonstrates competence even if it falls short of mastery. If Rome were to Ryse again, one would imagine it would be greater.
