The action of the second of the game supplements takes place after the events presented in Star Wars: Episode IV - New Hope. The rebels start producing a new type of heavy fighters, named after the characteristic shape of the B-Wing. The Empire does not idle either, and its fleet is constantly harassing the enemy. Rebelia forces are forced to flee to the planet Hoth.

Star Wars: X-Wing - B-Wing introduces a new campaign from the Tour on Duty cycle. It has been divided into three stages with a total of 20 missions. In most of them, players have the opportunity to sit at the helm of a new machine in Rebelia's fleet - the title B-Wing fighter. The tasks for pilots are varied. B-Wings allow you to intercept enemy units and attack ground targets, among other things. Part of the mission also focuses on the protection of convoys and the supply of new machines. The award for finishing the campaign is Talons of Hoth - an award granted by the Alliance for the Restoration of the Republic (or Alliance of Rebelants).

Audiovisual enhancement is no different from the basic version of the game and the Imperial Pursuit plugin.

In addition to the completely separate edition of Star Wars: X-Wing - B-Wing, it was also included in several popular sets, including Star Wars: X-Wing Collector's and Star Wars: X-Wing Collector Series (1998).
