Diablo 2: Resurrected Won't Run on PC if Your U Doesn't AVX
Another problem for Diablo 2: Resurrected players. It turns out that the PC version of the game will not run if the computer does not the AVX technology. This is a surprise, because it was not mentioned in the minimum requirements.

- Some Diablo 2: Resurrected players have complained about not being able to run the game despite meeting the requirements;
- It turns out that the culprit is AVX , which was not mentioned in the system requirements;
- Blizzard is currently working on an update to address the issue.
Yesterday, the long-awaited affected Cyberpunk 2077 but a recent hotfix got rid of the issue.
At this point, Blizzard has only addressed the issue through one of their staff by the handle Drakuloth:
"The reason we haven’t been communicating regarding the suspicion regarding AVX is that we aren’t sure that’s the cause just yet. Keep in mind that we’re just Customer - we don’t work on the engine itself so our insight into the inner workings is limited. However what I can say is that if this is the issue, it is not working as intended - AVX was not supposed to be a requirement for the game, so if the engine is requiring it, that’s unexpected behavior."
The investigation is continuing. We'll let you know when we learn more.
A few hours later, the staff member updated his statement and announced that a patch to fix this bug is on its way:
"As mentioned by other posters, the team’s identified the problem and is working on a patch for it at the moment. We don’t have an exact ETA on when it’s going to be released but it should resolve itself for most players with a machine that meets the system requirements."
Until the AVX situation is resolved, your best option is to check for yourself to see if your U s it. If you want to find out how to do that, go here. And of course, be patient until the bug is fixed.
